
BCNET
will
explore ways to efficiently use information technology and research
networks to
improve energy efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint through a
series of
workshops and panel discussions at the 2009 Conference, Green
Technologies for
Research and Learning.
The conference is designed to inspire academics, researchers, IT
professionals
and students to utilize technology to enhance their research and
learning
initiatives.
This year’s theme is Green Technologies and the session topics will
explore a wide array of impact areas such as green data centres, green
computing and applications that can help improve collaboration and
eliminate
travel.
The conference attracts a broad range of attendees including
researchers,
academics, students, industry and government. Aside from the information
packed
sessions, the event includes an exhibitor fair, poster competition,
a keynote
address and
plenty of opportunities to network with leaders in academia, industry
and
government. Finalists from the BCNET
Broadband Innovation Challenge student competition, will present
their
innovative projects that utilize networks.
